Frequently asked questions about the safety fiche at the station
Is the safety card at the station mandatory?
Not under that name: the Labor Code requires the employer to inform workers who use or maintain a machine (article R4323-1) and to train them in safety (article L4141-2), with refresher training when the equipment changes (article R4323-3). Details, and when a job description is mandatory, in our article « Security card at the station: is it mandatory? ».
What does the Labor Code say?
Article R4323-1 lists what the employer must convey: conditions of use and maintenance, instructions (including those in the manufacturer’s manual), handling of foreseeable abnormal situations, lessons learned from experience. Our article on the obligation summarizes these four points and places them on the fiche.
What difference does it make to the instructions?
The instructions are written by the manufacturer and cover the entire life of the machine for all its users. The safety data sheet at the workplace is prepared by the employer for a given workplace. Optima Job starts from the instructions to write the safety data sheet.
What is the difference with DUERP?
The single document lists the risks for the entire company, unit by unit. The job safety sheet translates the risks of a job into instructions that the operator applies. One does not replace the other.
Is the produced fiche ready to be displayed?
No. It’s a first draft. Your security manager compares it to the actual post, corrects it, and validates it before publishing it.
What happens to the documents I submit?
The trial indicates: «No document is kept.»
